World Map (Looking for Silence) waterbased woodblock, ink, mixed media, hand-colouring, monotype and transfers on kozo paper (98 x 66cm unfolded)

‘World Map (Looking for Silence)’ depicts an abstracted world albeit an inner or metaphorical world.
Although written in the 13th century, the words from Rumi’s poem: ‘Why are you so afraid of silence’ resonate with me; and the notion of looking for silence.
